The Apps API is in beta. Its endpoints and responses may change.
- Create an app and build it by sending prompts to the AI, from your own interface rather than the Base44 online app editor.
- Follow a build as it runs, and answer questions the AI asks while it works.
- Deploy an app to production from a CI or CD pipeline, and read the URL it is served on.
- Publish an app’s current version, or a specific earlier saved version.
- Download an app’s source code as a zip archive.
- Read and change an app’s data model, and count the records and users it holds.
- Author an app’s workflows, run them on demand, and read their run history.
- Connect a custom domain, send email from it, and keep old links working.
- Connect a GitHub repository and sync code in both directions.
- Run a security scan and read its findings.
- Query the analytics events an app tracks.
- Generate social content and run Google Ads campaigns that promote an app.

Every app the API creates belongs to a workspace and its builds draw on that workspace’s credits.
Prerequisites
- A personal access token. See Authentication to get one.
- An app you can manage, and permission to take the action you are calling.
App ID
Endpoints that act on a specific app include the app’s ID in the URL path asapp_id.
To get your app ID:
- Go to app.base44.com.
- Open your app in the app editor.
- Copy the app ID from the editor URL:
Use the CLI
The Base44 CLI can find and call any Apps API endpoint for you. It uses the account you’re logged in to the CLI with, and it fills in the app ID from--app-id or your linked project.
For example, find the operation that lists workflow runs, then call it for the failed ones:
api commands are:
api search: Search API operations by keyword.api catalog: Browse operations by area.api grep: Search the API spec with a regular expression.api fetch: Call an operation and return the response.
